Trauma Therapy via Telehealth: Healing What Hurts, Reclaiming What Matters

Trauma changes how we see the world—and how we see ourselves. Whether it stems from a single event or years of overwhelming stress, trauma can leave lasting effects on your body, mind, and relationships. But healing is possible. You don’t have to carry it alone.

What is Trauma?

Trauma is your body’s and brain’s response to something deeply distressing or overwhelming. It can come from experiences such as:

  • Abuse (emotional, physical, sexual)

  • Neglect or abandonment

  • Domestic violence

  • Medical trauma

  • Natural disasters or accidents

  • Loss and grief

  • Childhood adversity or complex trauma

Trauma doesn’t have to meet a specific checklist to be valid. If something hurt you deeply and it's still impacting your life—it matters.

How Trauma Shows Up

Trauma responses are your brain’s way of trying to protect you. These responses might include:

  • Anxiety, panic, or chronic stress

  • Flashbacks or nightmares

  • Dissociation or feeling disconnected

  • Difficulty trusting others

  • Hypervigilance or startle response

  • Guilt, shame, or self-blame

  • Emotional numbness or avoidance

Trauma can affect your ability to feel safe, regulate emotions, form relationships, and trust yourself. Therapy can help you reconnect with your inner resilience and sense of safety.

How Trauma Therapy Can Help

In therapy, we move at your pace. My goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported, empowered, and in control of your healing journey.

I use evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches such as:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness and grounding techniques

  • Somatic awareness and body-based strategies

Together, we’ll work to process what’s happened, reduce overwhelming symptoms, and help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have always deserved care and healing.

You Deserve to Heal

Trauma may be part of your story—but it doesn’t define you. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’m here to walk beside you. Reach out for a free 15-minute consultation or book your first telehealth session today.

Good Faith Estimate You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who donʼt have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any nonemergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (615) 988-4763.
