Lourdes Ibarra, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Lourdes Ibarra, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, I am Lourdes Ibarra, a recovered perfectionist, and now I hope to empower others.

I became a mental health therapist due to my own experience of taking a chance to open up, and the impact was real trust and connection.

Many people go through challenges with trust, especially if traumatic events or long periods of stress have impacted them. Therefore, I am passionate about helping people find their voice, heal their wounds, and restore what was lost. Because when people heal, they tend to share that with those around them.

Our Counselor's Credentials

Trainings & Specialization

Credentials

I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with years of experience supporting people on their mental health journey. I’m licensed to practice in multiple states, allowing me to provide accessible telehealth services across various regions.

A little bit more about the populations that I have served throughout my career:  During college, I was a caregiver, I have served in jobs for crisis with children, was a case manager for an outpatient treatment, served in corrections as a counselor, and have been in a group private practice since 2021, finally going out on my own. My goal is to continue to provide awareness of mental health and to continue to serve as many people as possible.

Another project that I have under my sleeve is to work on an art expression class for those who are interested in the near future. Art serves as a tool to self-express the emotions that one cannot fully express through words.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach in therapy is based on a research-based perspective that the brain is constantly trying to heal itself. The beautiful thing about our brain is that there is hope for healing even if we go through inevitable difficulties in our lives, we can indeed recover, but sometimes we need a little bit of help to move forward. I am here to help you with your journey of healing and growing as a person.

Life can be unpredictable and can bring us to places that we may not know how to handle. I can help you strengthen your potential and abilities to allow you to feel equipped and have a better sense of self.

Asking for help can be at times outside of our comfort zone, therefore, I am here to support you with any questions that you may have. This is a non-judgmental, safe space to talk about any concerns or hesitations.

Expertise & Training

Through a variety of specialized trainings, I take an eclectic and personalized approach to therapy that is client-centered. My background includes experience and training in trauma-informed care, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based approaches, and cognitive-behavioral interventions (CBT). I’m committed to providing evidence-based practices that helps with healing.

Good Faith Estimate You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who donʼt have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any nonemergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (615) 988-4763.
